Abruzzo and
Cantina
Tollo Evening at Palmiro
Wednesday 30th
April, 2008. 7.30pm for 8pm
Depending upon your point of view, we
are staying in the south for this month's stop
on our epicurean tour of Italy. Although geographically speaking Abruzzo is in central Italy,
it is usually associated with the south, sharing a sparsely populated, rugged beauty
with the southern regions.
Cantina
Tollo is a multi award winning co-operative, producing
an exciting range of wines from many of Abruzzo's indigenous
grape varieties. We will be serving examples of the region's two D.O.C.
wines: Trebbiano D'Abruzzo and Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, alongside
a couple of more unusual treats unique to the area. And yes,
before you ask, Pecorino is both the name of a grape and of a
cheese, but that is where all similarities end!
For our April wine tasting dinner, we
have matched typical Abruzzo dishes with a selection of classic and
modern wines from across the region. If all this wasn't enough, local wine buff Harry
Morris will once again be on hand to talk about all
the wines being served.
